Editor Schy Gleason has amassed decades of experience in video, TV and stage production and post-production work, including directing, producing, and project management. In recent years, he has focused on his post-production passion: high definition digital editing as well.

Schy’s editing experience in national, regional, and local productions includes network broadcast experience for nationally known clients such as NBC, ABC, Warner Brothers, ESPN, PBS, ABC Fox, Sony, and Disney Channel. He has also supported the production and post production needs of local broadcast TV in the New York, Los Angeles, and Seattle markets, and has edited a range of government, military, and corporate video productions, including feature films, case studies, product role-outs, trade show material, media announcements, and educational videos.

Since the early ‘80s, Schy has been fully immersed in the realm of digital post production, working with such leading tools as the Avid Media composer and Avid DS | Nitris, Apple Final Cut Pro, Discreet Logic *edit & Combustion, Adobe After Effects, and Photoshop production tools, enabling him to serve clients with a broad range of platform and product differentiation.

Since 2002, a significant portion of his work has been with such High Definitions such as Avid DS and DS Nitris systems. He has become the HD editor producers turn to for everything from corporate videos (Wal-Mart annual managers meeting HD program design) and original venues (VOOM— an all-HD hour-long network show with daily turn-around) to TV series (conforming and color correcting a 13-week week PBS series “Smart Gardening,”13 episodes of the HD “Saints Speak” series and an Animal Planet live HD Special) and long form productions (editing the full-length HD biography on Mia Hamm for ESPN Sports Century series, off- and on-lining for Muffin Man, one of the first HD feature films shot and edited totally in 1080 resolution).

Schy’s unique value to his film and video clients springs from his far-reaching proficiencies and experience in production and post-production, including three-camera stage and studio work, preproduction accounting, scheduling, story creation, print graphics, still photography, post production titling, CG work, directing, and producing. Particularly unique to the skill set of HD editors, Schy is also an accomplished actor and director with years of repertory theater experience, allowing him to work intuitively with models, actors and voice talent. His intimate knowledge of computer hardware, and mastery of industry-standard software, including business, graphics, multimedia and Internet packages, frequently comes to play when problem-solving with clients.
